In 2009 Nintendo submitted a patent for an LED light projection device that sat atop the television set and allowed players to get a visual indicator as to how well they were playing a game or create a certain mood within the room. The device is apparently capable of displaying 256 colors in different patterns and intensities. The lights were able to sync with instruments and would reflect how well you were playing by pulsating to the beat. Seems cool, but wouldn't that mess with the Wii remote's IR pointer?
