It's no secret that Majesco was planning on releasing another entry in the highly successful Cooking Mama franchise, but Gamestop has pretty much confirmed it. The gaming retailer has an entry in their system for Cooking Mama 4, set to grace the 3DS in the near future. Majesco has been dropping hints, such as featuring an official 3DS Cooking Mama Mii bar code on their facebook page, but it looks like hungry 3DS gamers will be able to look forward to the real deal in the coming months.

You might think Nintendo has nothing to worry about from Apple. The house that Mario built is at the top of their game, riding the wave of success the DS and Wii has brought them. Apple doesn't even make games, whereas Nintendo makes some of the best out there. But the problem actually lies in where Nintendo found this recent surge in popularity: the casual gamer.
Read more here Gaijin Games, creators of the Bit.Trip games that are popular on WiiWare and iOS, are sending this picture around to press today. It is Commander Video, the Bit.Trip series mascot, with an old school red/blue 3D filter placed over him. Are they hinting at 3DS ports of the Bit.Trip series or is this just some cruel April Fools Day joke? I hope this is true- the Bit.Trip games were a psychedelic good time on WiiWare and 3D would only add to the trippiness that those games exuded. From Software, developer of 3D Dot Game Heroes for PS3, has announced that they are working on a remake of the original Legend of Zelda in cooperation with Nintendo to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary. The developer was approached soon after the release of 3D Dot Game Heroes due to its close resemblance to the Zelda games of yesteryear. Many gamers have been pining for a return to the free-form nature of the original Zelda and From Software has made it their goal to recapture that sense of exploration. They also promise modern polish and enough updates to surprise even the most dedicated of fans, while still maintaining close ties with the source material. The Legend of Zelda DX will launch simultaneously for both Wii and 3DS November 18th 2011- just in time for the holidays.
Are you ready for glasses free 3D gaming? I know this is what I have always said was needed to take 3D past being a gimmick, but I was still skeptical. Until I actually played with the device. You won't understand how truly amazing the device is until you get it in your hands either. It might even take you a minute once you do have it in your hands, the picture at first appears blurry. But after a few seconds your eyes will focus and you too will experience 3D like you never have before. As you swoop your aircraft around the Wuhu Island in Pilot Wings Resort, threading between trees and houses you will really appreciate the level of depth this technology provides the game. I was simply amazed- and I think you will be too. Good luck getting one tomorrow, I hope you have one reserved!
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime will be a guest on Jimmy Fallon's show tonight, something that might be worth sitting through that awful show for. Reggie will surely show off the 3DS to the general populace and might have an announcement up his sleeve as well, who knows. But probably not.
Surprise! Nintendo has decided to call their 3DS download service 3DSWare. Nintendo's Greek website now has a logo for 3DSWare alongside links for WiiWare and DSiWare. Interesting, you would think Nintendo might want to start fresh after the lackluster performance of DsiWare, but then again there are only so many things you can call a digital download service.
While many Japanese developer's American offices are dedicated to localization, Level 5's Santa Monica office is actually going to be working on games focused on the western market. The staff currently consists of 5 Japanese developers, but the studio intends to collaborate with local industry vets to produce something more in line with American tastes. Does this mean guns and bald space marines? I hope not. The low number of staff suggests social gaming, digital download or even mobile development to me. Five people probably aren't going to cut it for retail 3DS or NGP games. I will be interested to see what they announce at the Level 5 Vision event said to be taking place this August.
Adding a little more incentive to buy Ocarina of Time once more, Nintendo has decided to include Master Quest in the package. Nintendo PR rep David Young confirmed this news in a recent interview when discussing the enhancements the 3DS version brought over the Nintendo 64 classic. Master Quest was originally intended to be a Nintendo 64DD title that offered more challenging remixes of the original game's dungeons. It has previously seen limited release in America, available to those who pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I personally didn't enjoy the new dungeon lay outs as much as I did the originals when I played played Master Quest on the Gamecube, but it is still a neat addition and better value for fans. Look for The Ocarina of Time remake for 3DS in stores this June.
Nintendo has a bevy of great updates hitting the 3DS by late May, including Netflix compatibility, GameGear and Turbo Graphx-16 games for the handheld's virtual console, and an exciting partnership with AT&T. AT&T is going to provide over 10,000 wireless hotspots around the U.S. for 3DS users to seamlessly connect to the internet with. This is sure to help make the 3DS a device you will want to take everywhere with you, to game, watch movies, and browse the internet on the go.
