If anybody was still planning on buying Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition, they were probably out of luck unless they wanted to pay almost three times MSRP on eBay. The game is currently sold out at most stores around the country, making it difficult for those that want a piece of Mario history. But fear not, Nintendo is considering another shipment of the collection.
“We are gratified by the consumer response to this limited-edition product, which we created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game on NES,” Nintendo public relations director Marc Franklin told Wired.com via email on Friday. “Because of the strong response, we are exploring the option of bringing this item back at a later date.”
“Until that decision is made, consumers should check with retailers, as supplies will vary by store,” Franklin said.
The games featured in the collection are actually available for $20 on the Wii's Virtual Console service, whereas the All Star collection will set you back $30 for some fancy packaging and a CD featuring some classic Mario tunes.
