Ronimo Games, probably best known for their 2009 WiiWare title Swords & Soldiers and dtp entertainment, developers of Summer Challenge – Athletics Tournament and Winter Sports 2011 – Go for Gold for Playstation 3, are teaming up to bring XBLA and PSN users Awesomenauts. The game will apparently be a “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA)” game, a term I hope catches on. I guess that means it will play like Smash Bros.? One thing is for sure, it will be full of awesome.

Soul Calibur V was shown during a press conference at Namco Bandai's "Level Up Dubai 2011" event earlier today. Soulcalibur V is set to launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012, with a story that takes place 17 years after the events of the previous game. I wonder what nonsensical characters Namco Bandai will include this time?
A couple of weeks ago Halo developer Bungie filed a trademark for Bungie Aerospace. Everyone was almost certain that this has something to do with their first game under Activision's wing, but could it be something more? It has recently been discovered that Bungie Aerospace has been incorporated in both Washington and Delaware. Could this be an entirely new studio? Bungie is currently working on putting together a private beta for whatever it is they are cooking up. We will likely find out what all of this is about at next month's e3. Wouldn't it be funny if we were all expecting an insanely awesome first person shooter and it ended up being a flight simulator? Bungie didn't always make Halo you know. Originally announced as an episodic downloadable title, Rayman Origins is now hitting retail this Fall. Game Informer reports that the game features four-player local co-op and will be accessible to players of all skill levels. I am glad to see Ubisoft chancing a retail release, I hate the fact that most gamers equate 2D games to downloadable titles. As New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns have shown, you can do quite well if you bring quality 2D games to retail.
Update: Gamestop's release calendar now has Rayman Origins listed for Wii and DS as well. Atlus has sent out yet another batch of interesting Catherine screenshots. I absolutely love how weird this game is. There is a Deluxe Edition of the game called "Love Is Over" available for $80 that comes with a pair of polka dot boxers packaged in a pizza box. There is also a nice pre-order bonus, an art book and soundtrack CD that is valid for both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions at participating retailers. Look for this wacky puzzler in stores July 26th. More screens after the break.
Zoo Entertainment, best known for gems like Silly Bandz and Hello Kitty Seasons, announced that they are working Wanted Corp., an original 3rd person shooter slated for PC and PSN. The game puts up to two players in control of Neal H. MadDogg and Irina Zimoy, who must use over the top weapons and their psychic powers to kill or capture over 20 different kinds of extra terrestrial enemies. As an added bonus, PS3 users will be able to use the Move controllers to aim their weapons. The game is set to come out this Summer for the low price of $9.99. Check out the trailer after the break!
After finding a lot of success with the uDraw tablet on Wii, THQ has announced that they are bringing the device over to the Xbox 360 and PS3 this holiday season. The tablet will be redesigned, meaning it will probably lose the Wii remote holder and come in a hardcore gamer oriented black color scheme. Except I doubt they will be interested in Spongebob Squigglepants, so maybe THQ has a couple of core oriented uDraw games to announce at e3.
Sony Online Entertainment servers were taken offline earlier this morning. The reason? Sony Online Entertainment announced that it has lost 12,700 customer credit card numbers as the result of an attack and nearly 24.6 million accounts may have been breached. Out of those 12,700 credit card numbers stolen, 4,300 came from Japan, with the remainder coming from European countries Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. The PSN servers and SOE servers are said to be on different networks, but this attack could very well have come from that same individuals. The moral of the story? Sony needs to tighten up their security quite a bit. Hopefully the other console manufacturers are taking notes.
PSN users have suffered quite a bit during the past 2 weeks, whether it be not being able to play your favorite game online or maybe even having your personal information stolen, but Sony wants to make it up to you. Within the next week various parts of PSN will be back in service, with the network being returned to full capacity by the end of May. They are also offering free downloads of selected content and a month of free Playstation Plus for both new and existing members. I guess that is better than nothing, but it is going to take a lot more than that to please those involved in the class action lawsuit that is brewing.
EA inadvertently revealed the Buffalo Bill's new jersey when they released a new trailer for Madden 2012 alongside the unveiling of Brown's running back Peyton Hillis as the cover athlete. Madden executive producer Phil Frazier took to twitter and had this to say about the mishap,"Also had to answer tough questions on prematurely revealing a team's new jersey." No word yet on what course of action, if any, the NFL will take- but they can't be happy. Catch the trailer after the break.
