The game is currently sold out at most stores around the country, making it difficult for those that want a piece of Mario history. But fear not, Nintendo is considering another shipment of the collection. “We are gratified by the consumer response to this limited-edition product, which we created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game on NES,” Nintendo public relations director Marc Franklin told Wired.com via email on Friday. “Because of the strong response, we are exploring the option of bringing this item back at a later date.” “Until that decision is made, consumers should check with retailers, as supplies will vary by store,” Franklin said. The games featured in the collection are actually available for $20 on the Wii's Virtual Console service, whereas the All Star collection will set you back $30 for some fancy packaging and a CD featuring some classic Mario tunes. There have already been a ton of great games announced for 2011 including Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but gamers are an insatiable bunch. Here are some more gaming announcements I am looking forward to in 2011.

Building upon the success avatars found in Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures, Avatar Kinect will once again place these digital representations of ourselves in the spotlight. But what type of game is it? My prediction is that it will be similar to Playstation Home, in that it will be a large platform for people to do mundane things like decorate apartments, play minigames and communicate with each other. Remember that rumor back in September about Microsoft buying out Linden Labs, the developer of Second Life? My guess is that this is the fruition of that deal.
Update: The real product is not as ambitious as I had thought. It allows Xbox LIve Gold members to communicate with each other in virtual roundtables using realistic gestures and facial expressions picked up by the Kinect peripheral. A listing for Gears of War Ultimate was spotted in Gamestop’s computer before promptly being removed. Microsoft has confirmed that the listing is legit so there will likely be an announcement fairly soon since February 15th is the supposed release date. What is so ultimate about this release? Is it simply the first two Gears of War games bundled together with added DLC for $29.99? I think something bigger is afoot. In November IGN posted a rumor about a Kinect enabled Gears of War being unveiled on the Spike Video Game Awards. Many thought they were talking about the third iteration of the franchise that is due in stores next year, but creator Cliffy B took to twitter and dispelled those rumors immediately, saying “No Kinect in Gears of War 3.” That however, did not confirm that there wasn’t a Gears of War with Kinect compatibility in the works. What better way to get the hardcore gamer interested in Kinect than with a deal like this? If this does well it may also pave the way for a patch or outright inclusion of Kinect compatibility in Gears of War 3.
Update: Microsoft has since debunked this rumor. It is in fact a bundle of the first two games with a token included to download all of of the DLC. A new release list posted by Game Informer states that Namco Bandai's Tales of Graces will finally hit U.S stores, making many Wii RPG fans ecstatic. While this is in no way confirmation, any hint that this game is being translated makes me happy. The game garnered a 36/40 review score in Japan's Famitsu gaming magazine, so Wii gamers might be able to look forward to a high quality RPG in the coming months. There is no word yet of whether or not this release will include the added content from Tales of Graces F on PS3, or whether the PS3 version will be localized at another time. Since the PS3 is not region locked PS3 fans are free to import it whenever they want, but an English version of such a text heavy game would be nice. Since Game Informer is attached to gaming retailer Gamestop I would hope they have an inside scoop on what is hitting stores, meaning this could be legit. If true Wii could be home to Tales of Graces, Xenoblade and The Last Story all within the same year- enough to make any RPG fan's head explode.
